Zelve Open Air Museum
Zelve, one of Cappadocia’s oldest and longest-used settlements, consists of three distinct valleys. In this area, where fairy chimneys are most concentrated, you’ll feel like you’re on a movie set as you explore the monasteries, churches, and tunnels carved into the rocks. Compared to Göreme, Zelve offers a more tranquil atmosphere, combining nature walks with historical exploration.
Paşabağları (Priests' Valley)
This is the place where the famous mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys of Cappadocia are seen most clearly and impressively. In this valley, where monks once retreated to live in seclusion, you can see the chapel built in honor of Saint Simeon and take unique photos while wandering among the massive fairy chimneys.
Devrent Valley (Valley of Imagination)
This is the most fantastic spot in Cappadocia! Unlike other valleys, there are no churches or settlements here; nature takes center stage. In this valley, where wind and water have sculpted the rocks like a sculptor, it’s entirely up to your imagination what the rocks resembling camels, seals, or human silhouettes might look like.
Love Valley
One of Cappadocia’s most popular panoramic viewing points, Love Valley is famous for its massive cylindrical fairy chimneys. Viewing the bird’s-eye view from the top of the valley is one of the most enjoyable moments of the tour, especially for nature photographers and those seeking a romantic moment.
Avanos
Avanos, divided in two by the Kızılırmak River (known in ancient times as the Halys), is a center for art and craftsmanship. Known for its swinging bridge and peaceful riverside atmosphere, the district has been the capital of the pottery tradition passed down from father to son for thousands of years.
Ceramics Workshop
In Avanos, you will witness the transformation of Kızılırmak’s red clay soil into art. You can observe the production stages of ceramics shaped by master potters, and if you wish, you can try your hand at making your own pottery at the workbench.
Uçhisar Castle Foot
We take a break at the foot of Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in the region, where you can see all of Cappadocia at your feet. Sip your tea overlooking Güvercinlik Valley and the magnificent castle, and capture wonderful photos at this spot, where you can best analyze the region’s geographical structure.
Leather Fair
At the leather shops, an important part of Cappadocia tourism, you will have the opportunity to see Turkey’s high-quality leather craftsmanship up close. At this stop, which offers a wide collection ranging from specially designed jackets to bags (sometimes accompanied by a mini fashion show), you can shop or simply admire the craftsmanship.
